Long before pocket calculators and hand held satellite global positioning units, fixation and orientation was carried to points by schemes. These schemes were based on simple trigonometry. Through known angles and length with rules pertaining to Sines, Co-sines, Tangents or Co-tangents, unknown angles and length can be computed.
