ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS TO THOSE WHO HAVE HELPED TO PUT THIS SITE ONLINE
This project grew from an increasing concern that the role of the Artillery Surveyor in the field, would never surface let alone be recorded. In the raising of this testament in 2006 and 2007 we are most grateful to the following, who moved our project to realisation on this Remembrance Day, 2007.
- Mr Norm McManus (WO2, 131 Div Loc Bty, retired) who saw merit in and endorsed our initiative.
- The RSL Sub Branches of Shenton Park and Bathurst, who supported our submission to the Dept. of Veterans’ Affairs.
- The Hon Julie Bishop, Member for Curtin, Federal Minister for Education, Science & Training, who championed our project.
- The Hon Member’s Subiaco Office Staff who scrutinised our material and saw merit in its presentation.
- Dept of Veterans’ Affairs who approved a grant under the Australian Govt commemorations programme, Saluting Their Service, to present our website to the internet.
- Mr Bill Houston, contact person within the Army History Unit, for his appraisal and clearance to present, the forms, calculating sheets, formulae used by Artillery Surveyors during this period.
